HISTORY IS OUR GUIDE

In the wild heart of the Angus Glens, Glen Prosen lies cradled between heather-clad hills and clear, tumbling burns, where the air is laced with pine, peat, and the quiet song of the land. Our hydro-powered, sustainable distillery draws its life from these waters, honouring the enduring spirit of this Scottish glen.

In the 18th and 19th centuries, these glens were a smuggler’s stronghold. Hidden bothies sheltered their craft, while the Minister’s Path, the Cateran Trail, and the Kilbo Pass became secret lifelines. By moonlight and mist, they slipped past the Dragoon Guards - casks of usquabae hidden beneath grain and peat - vanishing into the folds of the hills long before the gaugers knew they’d been there.

OUR VISION

Late 2025
Whisky production at Glen Prosen Bothy Distillery is set to begin in Late 2025. We are aiming our production levels to reach an annual output of approximately three hundred casks.
Early 2026
Following the meticulous malting, mashing, and distilling processes, the first oak casks, carefully selected from Jerez and Kentucky, will be filled and laid down for warehousing and maturation in 2026
2030
As our distinctive spirit matures into Scotch whisky, our master blender will carefully oversee the influence of these casks and pinpoint the exact time our Scotch is ready for bottling. We anticipate this to occur no earlier than 2030.
