The Bothy Distillery carries forward a rich tradition of distilling in this historic glen, once home to whisky smuggling and illicit bothy distilleries. Archival research has uncovered compelling evidence of past distillation here, connecting our work to a legacy that stretches back centuries.

Our small-batch gin and whisky will be crafted within the existing sheds, ensuring minimal environmental impact. Visitors will be welcomed to our ‘Keeper’s Cottage’ experience by appointment only, offering an intimate glimpse into our process, history, and commitment to sustainability.

OUR VISION

Late 2025
Whisky production at Glen Prosen Bothy Distillery is set to begin in Late 2025. We are aiming our production levels to reach an annual output of approximately three hundred casks.
Early 2026
Following the meticulous malting, mashing, and distilling processes, the first oak casks, carefully selected from Jerez and Kentucky, will be filled and laid down for warehousing and maturation in 2026
2030
As our distinctive spirit matures into Scotch whisky, our master blender will carefully oversee the influence of these casks and pinpoint the exact time our Scotch is ready for bottling. We anticipate this to occur no earlier than 2030.
