A guided walk exploring Prosen's natural heritage, and how it forged the glen folk's way of life.

26 June & 24 July
£55 per person

Step back into the hidden history and natural heritage of Glen Prosen, as you follow the path once used by whisky smugglers moving illicit spirit through the glen.

Your experience begins at the distillery with coffee to take away, before setting off along the old smugglers’ path towards Old Craig. Along the way, geologist and storyteller Morag from Stories of Stone will bring the landscape to life, explaining how the glen was shaped over millions of years and how its natural features helped smugglers hide and transport whisky in secret.

Continuing along the path guests will learn more about the glen folk who resided here, before uncovering hidden bottles on the trail, discovering and tasting a featured Glen Prosen spirit. (This will include New Make Spirit if available, or an alternative whisky selection.) A small bottle discovered along the route becomes your keepsake sample to take home.

At the end of the trail, surrounded by Prosen's rugged hills, guests will pause for a Prosen Picnic — a small Highland picnic inspired by the simple provisions that travellers once carried through the glens, renamed to commemorate the old glen tradition. Enjoy fresh scones served with Bothy Butter and jam, alongside traditional oatcakes with heather honey and Highland crowdie cheese.

Returning to the distillery, the experience concludes with a dram of our Gunshot whisky, bringing the story full circle, from illicit spirit to the whisky we produce today.
