Guardians of the Threshold

Guardians of the Threshold

Highland superstition holds that snowdrops planted near a doorway protect a home from ill fortune and wandering spirits. They stand at the threshold delicate, but steadfast.

Once, spirit flowed through this glen by moonlight; quietly, cautiously, hidden among the folds of the hills. Smugglers worked by shadow and necessity and the craft survived in secret.

This spring, they bloom beside the distillery in Glen Prosen.

Today, the groundwork is being laid.

The copper is on its way. The stills will soon be set in place. And this spring, they will sing.

Legal distilling will return to Glen Prosen, not hidden in the hills, but standing openly in the light.

The snowdrops keep watch all the same.
