We provide a range of cask sizes and types to meet diverse investment and maturation preferences.
Each cask is meticulously crafted with the eye of our master blender Ron Welsh to ensure optimal maturation, imparting unique flavour profiles to the Glen Prosen spirit.

Cask Finishing: An option to re-rack spirit into specialty casks, such as those previously holding port or wine, for an additional fee.
All casks are filled with Glen Prosen spirit and stored in government-bonded warehouses. Casks purchased are for personal use or gifting. Third party sale are not permitted without discussion.
What's on offer
Select Cask
Investors can purchase full casks, providing a significant yield of premium single malt whisky upon maturation.
Yield: A typical cask yields 200–300 bottles, varying by cask size and evaporation (the "angels’ share").
Optional hold time from 3 to 10 years.
At the end of agreed terms, casks can be bottled for personal or gifting purposes (fees apply).
Third Party resales are not permitted with out discussion. Tax and Duty not included and charged when whisky is released from bond.
Small Cask
For those seeking more compact options, we offer smaller quarter cask ideal for collectors or smaller-scale investments:
Quarter Casks (125 Litres): These casks mature whisky more rapidly due to increased wood contact.
Please be aware that (the angels’ share) evaporation is increased in this cask size.
Casks can be bottled for personal or gifting purposes (fees apply).
Third Party re-sales are not permitted with out discussion. Tax and Duty not included and charged when whisky is released from bond.

The Timescale

August 2025
Whisky production at Glen Prosen Bothy Distillery is set to begin in August 2025. We are aiming our production levels to reach an annual output of approximately three hundred casks.

September 2025
Following the meticulous malting, mashing, and distilling processes, the first oak casks—carefully selected from Jerez and Kentucky—will be filled and laid down for warehousing and maturation in September 2025.

2030
As our distinctive spirit matures into Scotch whisky, our master blender will carefully oversee the influence of these casks and pinpoint the exact time our Scotch is ready for bottling. We anticipate this to occur no earlier than 2030.
